Missing companies when creating groups

When creating a new group in CloudPanel, none of my companies are listed when attempting to fill “Limit Visibility” or “Access”. All I see when selecting those two dropdown boxes is “Resellers” and “Companies”. Nothing else is listed and obviously neither of those are select-able since they’re just the topic that should have resellers or companies under them.

This is a new install on Server 2019 with Exchange 2019. I just have two test companies at the moment… Everything else seems to be working fine. One thought I had is that I opted not to have the ability to have resellers when installing. Because resellers are not valid, is it not listing companies either? Maybe a bug?

It could be a bug and we will check that out. I would suggest you use resellers anyways because it will be there in case anything changes in the future. Your own company would just be the first reseller.

I’d be willing to try enabling resellers if it will help avoid issues. Is there an easy way to enable resellers at this point?

If you have already created companies then it won’t be so easy. We would most likely have to help. You can keep resellers disabled and we will look at getting the bug fixed if it is a bug. By default a user permission group will only have access to their company or if they are checked as a reseller then only access to the companies under their reseller.

Are you trying this from Edge on a server that is in protected mode? If so, you may want to try another browser or disable the protected mode that is on by default for servers since it can cause certain javascript issues.

I think I see what you meant here. I created a permissions group and added one account to it. When I log into CloudPanel with that account, I only have access to the company that user is a member of. So is the “Limit Visibility” and “Access” field even required?

It’s definitely not a browser issue. I’ve tried on multiple browsers on the server and a couple PCs just to be sure.

I’ll standby while you guys investigate. Thank you!

Any luck replicating or finding the problem?

Yes, this is a bug when resellers are disabled and we have corrected it. We plan on releasing an update at the beginning of next week.
